Treasure Hunting: Taking no shorts but these ones

Are you one of the many, many people that think that Andrew Wiggins is the next coming of Michael Jordan, or at least the Canadian version of it?  Did you want a one of a kind, crazy piece of memorabilia to have as a reminder and a possibly a sound investment?  Well here's your chance.  Check this out for the Hall of Fame vault or just to play ball in ...

Did you want a to own a piece of Canadian basketball history?  Or maybe basketball history?  Or maybe still just a piece of great basketball memorabilia?

Then look no further.

Right here we have a genuine game-worn pair of Canada Basketball shorts worn by the one, the only, soon to be college baller and likely to be an NBA number one Draft pick Andrew Wiggins during his last run with the Junior Men's National Team.

OK, well that's the description anyway.  I'm not sure if Wiggins was the "only" player to wear these particular shorts but it sure seems like he very well could have.

Canada Basketball did have a fire sale of uniforms, mens only, earlier this year releasing sets of them over a period of a few weeks.  First went the road blacks, then the road reds and then the home whites. These definitely look like they are from the National Team's stock.

Now here's what I can tell you about the pair short of owning them myself:

I was able to pick up a few items from the sale (though I missed the black jersey and short drop) that these definitely look like my pair of shorts that I have.  My shorts have the same marking of FIBA in the lower left corner in a near sublimated fashion.

Also, if you are a knowledgeable of the game worn jersey game, you're aware that most of the on court stuff that Nike does make does not come in general sizes like Large but rather in number measurements.  If you check out image #2 of the auction the numbers are clearly marked for size and you also get the added "Length+4" tag meaning that they also added four inches to the length further adding to the authenticity that these are game worn product.

Now the only way to tell that these were worn, or possibly worn, by Young Wiggins is by the hand written player number on the tag.  The number "15" is indeed penned in there and if you check out the Junior Men's National Team roster from this past summer on the Canada Basketball site you see that Wiggins is listed as number 15.  Blammo, looks like these could have very well been his game shorts.

Now, I know everyone wants a piece of the the kid now because he's destined to be a start at the highest levels and if that's what your going for than this could be something to consider.  At $100, this is a pretty good investment assuming that he fulfills all the expectations and the market for this kind of item doesn't bottom out.

Outside of all that, I'd just be happy to own these shorts to actually ball in.  That's what I do in my Jermaine Anderson jersey.
