Rathan-Mayes is heading to FSU
Well, another top Canadian born high school basketball player is heading to the NCAA.
Huntington Prep's Xavier Rathan-Mayes had formally announced that he is heading to Florida State.
Rathan-Mayes ends the speculation that had been swirling around for the last few weeks and he will be heading to the alma mater of his pops. The only other school that had a shot at the super two guard was Illinois but it may have been a moot point.
This means that Rathan-Mayes could step in and get some minutes next year with FSU with senior Michael Snear likely graduating after this season at the two spot and possibly even some time at the one. The 'Noles will be a little young in the backcourt next season with only one upperclassman returning, assuming that everyone comes back of course.
It's still early in the college season and things are always subject to change but right now this looks like a great place for him to start college.
