Nash breaks 10,000 assists for his career

Steve Nash is now in some select company ladies and gentlemen.  Kid Canada got his 10,000th assist in the Lakers loss to the Rockets.  Forget about the loss though, that LA team is likely one foot out of the Play Off race right now if they play like they did in the loss.  The most important thing is that Nash is now one of only five players to have accomplished that feat.

Let's see ... John Stockton, Jason Kidd, Mark Jackson, Magic Johnson and Nash.  Pretty damn impressive.

Nash would end the game with 10 assists putting him at 10,005 for his career.  Now the next milestone is getting another 136 to tie Magic at 10,141.  At his current clip of 8.8 per game this season through his nine games, he should be at that total by Feb. 5 when the Lakers play the Nets give or take .45 assists that is.

If you did miss the assist that set the mark, here it is courtesy of Yahoo! Sports' Ball Don't Lie.
